Drupal, I use it and I love it. If you want my evangelism on Drupal then look around my site, it's everywhere, so I'm not going to belabor the point here.

While 1&1 may not be the hottest or fastest web hosting service (I refuse to get into that type of geek one-upsmanship debate), I do find 1&1 to be the best value for the services that I need. Plenty of file storage space, bandwidth, databases, all of the functionality I need, and excellent reliability and uptime. I use 1&1 for all of my own sites and I recommend them to all of my clients for their sites.

A new open-source tool I'm working with for my site coding. It seems to have most of the functions that I like about Dreamweaver for developing code plus a few additional ones that I've been wishing for. If you're just looking a a tool to help you write you site code (HTML, XML, PHP, JavaScript, CSS, etc.) Then I think that you'll really like this application.

A really good web graphics tool that I use most of the time as part of the Dreamweaver/Fireworks suite of tools. There a other good tools out there, like Photoshop and Gimp, but I tend to use Fireworks mostly because I'm used to it and it integrates well with Dreamweaver. But I am working my way into Gimp as my open-source replacement for Fireworks as I move onto the Linux OS.

I've been using Dreamweaver since version 3 and it's the best WYSIWYG web design and coding tool that I've used, and as much as I try to recommend open-source tools whenever possible, this is one place where a proprietary application has the advantage, hands-down.

There are open-source alternatives out there (Kompozer is one), but they don't quite match the over-all capabilities of this application.
